HUBLI: Karnataka State Law University, Hubli and Karnataka State Higher Education Council, Bangalore, organized a one-day national conference on legal education at KSLU campus here recently.
Justice M. N Venkatachaliah, former Chief Justice of India, inaugurated the conference. The second volume of the first edition of KSLU's Law Journal was released on the occasion.

Delivering the inaugural address, Justice Venkatachaliah stressed on the transformation in the legal education system which was revitalized by Bar Council of India in the early 80s. Lamenting on the inadequacies in legal education, he added that vocational opportunities for developing skills and inequality of the economic order are some of the major lacuna existing in India.
Speaking on reformation, he pointed out the roles which universities have to play and also added the importance of interactive sessions in order to study law with a larger perspective.
